With a New President, Arizona Receives a New Governor

Jan Brewer - Governor of Arizona - Official Website

President Obama has selected Janet Napolitano to head the department of Homeland Security.

And... the US Senate has confirmed it.

That left Arizona without a Governor.

But not for long- within hours, Jan Brewer, the Secretary of State, was elevated to the state's highest office.

Would you like to know more about her?

Here's the official Website: AZGovernor.gov.

Along with links to information about Arizona, there's a handy link which will allow you to download her Inaugural address.

I wish her well as she faces the challenges and opportunities that face our state.

As a Democrat in AZ, I'm sorry to see a Republican take over. I hope, however, that she is up to doing something about our financial mess.

Hey Chuck ~ Maybe I'm being a fuddy-duddy, but does it worry anybody else that the Secretary of State has been "promoted" to Governor of Arizona?  I for one am quite concerned.

Leslie- That's right. By electing a Democrat President, Arizona loses a Democrat governor. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Randy- This isn't the first time either... with out past impeached governors- we've seen the ascension before. I don't know that they'll ever get around to changing the rule.

These are exciting times.  I just wish we were already a couple months into the change.  I'm excited to see where this will all take us.  I believe it is all truly for the better.

Joan- A time like no other... I wish it weren't so... but hey, we're witnessing some interesting history.

Jason & Amber- I'd like to be able to see into the future as well.

Andrew- Ouch... I know... we have so much state debt that quite a few of the cuts are going to hurt.
