Earlier I reported the tight race for Mesa Mayor: Mesa Mayor Race too Close to Call.
Well... here's the latest update.
The March 11 race was too close to produce a clear victor.
Claudia Walters received insufficient votes to participate in a run-off. Although she had immediately decided to recommend one opponent over the other, she has since decided to endorse Scott Smith.
Both candidates are now hoping to collect Walter's faithful- a task made more difficult since she has opted out of actively campaigning on either candidates behalf.
The run-off election will be held May 20, 2008.
