There was a fence near my childhood home that was too tall to climb.
Or so I thought.
After seeing my brother and his friend scale the fence with little difficulty I discovered that, with enough determination, I could do so also.
And what I saw enthralled me.
There were kids playing baseball on a beautiful green field.
I wanted to be there... playing baseball with them.
With time I was.
Sure. I struck out a few times.
I was hit by a pitch or two and skinned my knees on more than one occasion.
But that was a small price to pay.
Because sometimes I scored.
And so it goes with real estate investing. Many of us have sat on the fence.
Only to look fondly at the green green grass of the other side.
We watched others make it look so easy.
I guarantee they've struck out a few times. Or been hit by a pitch.
But sometimes they score.
If you haven't yet jumped the fence, may I invite you?
Start small.
But get started.
The grass is greener on this side.
And the conditions are perfect.

Great lesson, Chuck - it can be applied to real estate investing or life in general.
Chuck, great analogy. I agree, and as Candace quoted Warren Buffet, "be fearful when others be greedy and greedy with others are fearful." Now is a great time. Nice story.
