Chicken Little & Today's Market

"Chicken Little" by Isrona - http://flickr.com/photos/ishmaelo/

An acorn fell. Chicken Little, in the absence of fact, declared the sky is falling.

His panic was enough to persuade all the other animals to race in fear of the inevitable.

Panic somehow trumps fact.

Given a set of possibilities it’s only proper to assess risk. Worst case scenario thinking is a positive… as long as it does not trump facts.

Here’s today’s panic news: rising foreclosures, falling prices.

Here’s today’s fact: low rates, low prices.

For the home buyer, the sky is not falling.

It’s never been bluer.

Buyers: don’t be chicken.

Absolutely,  I am hearing way too much of the R word and the D word.  Now is the time to buy, rates are down, inventory is up, buyers rule..........

Good post, Chuck. All the negative news reports are scary. Buyers can get some reasonable deals and good rates now.

Thanks Jackie & Rich. It's amazing how the market reacts on negative information vs. the positives.
